The first 48

The First 48 is an American reality television show based on homicide detective units in various cities across the United States.
Each episode shows how detectives use forensic evidence, witness interviews and other advanced detective skills to identify suspects.
The First 48 is notable because it takes viewers behind the scenes of real-life investigations with unprecedented access to crime scenes, autopsies, forensic processing, and interrogations, offering a view of homicide detective work that is not obscured by the veil of fiction.

This show is serious. If you have cable you can watch it on Crime & Investigation (best channel ever invented) no 237.

It's real life, real people and makes CSI and any other crime show look pretty pale in comparison. The other day I saw an episode where a man learned he had actually shot and killed his best friend. To see the emotions these people and the victims families go through is crazy.
